The ‘Right Time’ with OVERPASS in London.

Indie-rockers Overpass from Birmingham played in front of a packed Scala in London on April 3rd, 2025. Opening the show were the London-based quartet Balancing Act who had already brought their own following to the gig, as there were a few over-excited fans in the front row during their set. The band consisting of Kai Roberts (vocals), Jackson Couzens (guitar), George Le Page (drums), and David Carpenter (bass) were featured as the ‘Next Wave’ on Radio 1’s Future Artists in 2023. Their performance was electric and especially frontman Kai Roberts was very energetic throughout their set warming up the crowd for Overpass’ performance shortly after.
There were lots of cheers when Overpass stepped on stage, opening their set with ‘Be Good To Yourself’, a song from their latest EP ‘Dependent’ which was released earlier this year. Max Newbold (vocals/guitar), Indie Armstrong (bass), Elliot Rawlings (guitar), and Jake Bishop (drummer) immediately captured the crowd with strong guitar riffs, catchy melodies, and seamless transitions during their 14-song setlist which was a perfect blend between fan favorites, songs of their latest EP as well as a few unreleased songs such as ‘Union Station’ and ‘Sandman’. The gig was sold out and the venue was packed. There were lots of mosh pits breaking out during their set, so much so that the set had to be interrupted at one point due to an incident in the crowd as one fan had to be taken out of the crowd. Nonetheless, the audience sang along loudly, people were cheering and jumping, clearly enjoying themselves. ‘3AM’ and ‘Beautiful’ seemed to be clear fan favorites and unquestionably, bigger stages await the band as they have been making a name for themselves in the British indie scene over the last few years. Overpass will play a few festivals in the UK this summer, giving fans who have missed the tour another chance to catch the band live in 2025.
